The need to be right is an obsession with me. Especially in an argument.

I recognize many of these patterns within me, especially correcting a detail when my husband is telling a story. I have been working quite a while on seeing this and letting it be. The question, “How important is this?” is helpful to me in letting his story be his story. Thanks for this weekly aim.

This is so helpful! Especially the distinction between the desire to be right, and seeking truth. I appreciate the specific examples to look for in thinking and attitudes-- this is all so immediately practical and applicable in my persistent desire to be right. Thanks so much Bob for your teaching
